I can’t believe the month of May will be over tomorrow? My poor blog has been sorely neglected this month with this only being the 5th post! May started with a whirlwind and is ending with one as well.
Earlier this month Heith and I made another 6 hour round trip to see the specialist in Detroit. They have now thankfully ruled out Meniere’s disease and instead feel that he is having migraines (some are painless like his but yet there is no pain). So now we are being referred to a neurologist and thankfully we can see one close to home.
On May 3ed my husband’s Grandmother passed away in her home. She had battled esophageal (throat) cancer for 9 months. Now she is resting peacefully in Heaven with our Lord. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
I have spent a lot of time this month concentrating on health and research. In March I was diagnosed with a life changing disease and for the first couple of months I went into denial. In fact, I didn’t just go into denial I did everything I shouldn’t be doing so I was in denial with action. I have been working this month to take care of myself. I have been doing research on ways to improve my condition and hopefully keep me off medication for as long as possible. I may one day share with you what is going on but for now I am going to keep it private as I do have some family members who do not know what is going on.
While doing my researched I came across Coconut oil. It apparently is great for a lot of things but what mostly interested me was that it has been known to tremendously help individuals who are suffering with Alzheimer’s like my own grandmother. We have started including it into her diet and in just the past three weeks have been noticing some great benefits. She seems to have a big more energy, she is sitting up straighter, her eyes and skin are brighter and most importantly she is becoming more alert and interactive. While we are trying not to become overly optimistic to soon, I am excited in the changes I have already begun to see.
On Memorial Day we watched the evening news and saw a story that our local housing market has turned into a seller’s market. As we have been wanting to move to the nearby town where our families are living we called a realtor to discuss our options and are seriously considering putting the house on the market. There is a lot of work to do to get ready so it may or may not happen. But unless we look into it, we will never know what our options really are.
KC finished Preschool this past week as well. His last day was filled with a trip to the Zoo with his classmates and Grandma. He had a fabulous time and it was a great way to end his first year of school.
And now we are here at the last two days of May. It’s time for an easy, and restful couple of days so that we can start June off on the right foot.
How was your month of May? Was it crazy busy like mine or more of a gentle entrance into the Spring/Summer months?
