While researching Christmas gifts for my husband and sons I kept noticing some reviewers stating they had gotten their items for free or at a discount in exchange for giving their honest opinion. Since I’m always looking for ways to save money and stretch our single income budget naturally I thought, “Hey how can I get free amazon products?”. So off I went to figure out how I too could join this club of consumers who are enjoying things they need or want from Amazon at the fraction of the cost, or better yet totally free! What I found is that the process to get signed up as an Amazon Review is actually quite easy!
Get Free Amazon Products For Your Opinion
The first thing I wanted to know was why are companies willing to give away free products on Amazon for leaving an unbiased review? Simply put, companies need your opinions and reviews for their products. It is through these reviews that their rankings are boosted on Amazon. Which results in getting their products in front of additional customers and an increase in sales.
Before searching for free Amazon products to review, you need to complete a couple of steps. First you will want to complete your Amazon public profile which can be found under your account, then by scrolling down to the personalization section and finally select edit profile. The more information you have filled in there the better your chances will be of being selected and contacted by one of these companies. There are companies who look at reviews for different products and decided to reach out directly to the reviewer, if they liked what they read. You will want to include a way for them to contact you directly. I have my blog, my social media accounts and my email address listed in my profile as a way to get ahold of me. You don’t have to give them as many options as I did, but having one is a good idea.
Second you will want to write a few reviews for your previous purchases. I suggest writing a review for the last 3-5 products you purchased through Amazon. This gives companies who are looking for reviewers something to check out when you apply to receive one of their products, so make sure your reviews look great!
Once you have accepted a product try it out and then submit your review. It’s important to note that these companies are depending on you to do your part and leave an unbiased review. You’re not just get free Amazon products for nothing. Take your time and write a high quality review, make sure you have no spelling or grammatical mistakes, etc. It needs to be more than just “worked good, no complaints”, tell other shoppers what you liked or didn’t like about the product. Did it work for you, why or why not? Would you buy it again in the future. How was your dealings with the supplier, was it a good experience or not. Be honest, share your opinions good or bad. It’s also important to include a disclaimer in your reviews. Something along the lines of “I received ________ for free (or at a discount) in exchange for my honest and unbiased review”.
Some people review multiple products at once. If you plan to do that, and be successful at it, then you need to be organized. You will need to come up with a plan to keep track of what products you are currently reviewing, their review due dates, and when you are expecting additional products. Each review site has it’s own rules about how a review should be done, and when it is due. Although as a rule of thumb your reviews should be completed within 5 to 10 days of receiving the product in the mail.
Amazon Product Review Groups
There are several groups where you can get free amazon products to review. Some of them will accept you right away, and others may take a little while before you hear anything back. You can apply to as many of them as you like, there is no limit.
All Star Reviews – It easy to sign up and get started. They send you offers to your email, you select the ones you are interested in and start reviewing once you receive it in the mail
AMZ Review Trader – This was the first site I joined to become an Amazon reviewer and it does not disappoint. It has the ability to let you filter products by their price (high or low), date added, interest, etc.
Elite Deal Club – This group sends out an email each day telling you of the many products available to review.
Giveaway Service – This group helps to connect you with companies looking to get reviews on their products.
iLoveToReview – Similar to the other groups, you will receive emails when new products are available to review.
SnagShout – This company allows you to choose a free or discounted product to review. Then once your review is on Amazon, you are eligible to pick another deal to try.
Tomoson – I like this company because they connect you with the brands that want their products reviewed in several places. This is great for reviewers with blogs, and multiple social media accounts. Of course you will also be adding your review to Amazon directly. You have to apply to this group and if you are accepted then a free product is shipped right through Amazon.
The above websites are only a fraction of what is available for you to sign up with as a reviewer. However, they are not the only way you can get free Amazon products to try out. There are also several Amazon review groups on Facebook you can join and find great leads to free or discounted products.
