Five Fun Family Activities For The Holiday’s
Build A Snowman. Nothing says winter wonderland like Frosty the Snowman. Spend some time outside with the kids building your own version of Frosty or even an entire Frosty family. Use old mittens and scarves to dress your snowman for the season. If using your old scarves and mittens doesn’t sound appealing you can always pick up some from GoodWill or buy a snowman kit.
Make A Christmas Ornament. This is a great activity for those cold, snowy December days. Your preschooler and elementary aged kids will have a lot of fun making ornaments for the tree. They may even enjoy making an extra one for Grandma.
Make And Decorate Christmas Cookies. Making holiday cookies with your kids and then give them as gifts to your child’s teachers, bus drivers, and other special people in their lives. By letting them be involved with the gift making and giving process will help teach them to be giver as well as a receiver. It will also give them a sense of pride and accomplishment knowing they did something great for someone else.
String Popcorn For The Birds. This time of year food for our feathered friends can be scarce. Why not help them our by stringing popcorn and then hang it from a bush, tree, or even your porch rail. Don’t forget to make a little extra for snacking!
Watch The Ball Drop. What better way to say good-bye to one year and welcome the next than to be with your family. While the little ones may not make it to midnight they will still have lots of fun celebrating in anticipation! Take it one step further and make your own little party with games, fun finger foods, and homemade decorations!
