The Fourth Of July has become not only a day to celebrate our countries independence, but a day to spend with family and friends. Fireworks and BBQs have become senenomous with our national holiday. If you plan on partaking in the Independence Day festivities, take a few minutes to make sure you are following a few fireworks safety tips.
Fireworks Safety Tips
Buy your fireworks from reputable dealers.
Read all instructions and firework safety warnings carefully.
Remember even the duds are dangerous. Do not try to re-light any fireworks that did not go off as expected. There is a reason it didn’t go off the first time.
Have a bucket of water on hand near where you are lighting off the fireworks.
Don’t point or throw fireworks at someone.
Don’t carry fireworks in your pocket.
Don’t wear loose fitting clothing if you will be handling the fireworks.
Do not ever give fireworks to children.
Instead of giving sparklers to young children. Give them glow sticks instead. They stay lit longer, come in fun colors and wont shoot off hot sparks that could hurt little ones.
Finally, if you don’t know what you are doing then it’s best to leave it to the pros!
