Bed Liner Truck – A Waste Of Money?

Bed Liner Truck – A Waste Of Money?

Bed liner truck accessories protect your valuable vehicle from an early grave! If your truck bed is scratched and scarred it not only looks bad, it’s subject to damage by rust and corrosion. Once the rust gets started, it’s a rapid road to ruin for your truck. Also, without a bed liner it’s hard to use your truck for hauling knowing that damaging the bed will shorten the truck life. Get a good bed liner and use your truck for hauling with no fear of destroying your expensive vehicle.

A spray on bed liner is probably the most popular bed liner protection today. Spray on bed liners are usually professionally applied. With a spray on liner, you get a guaranteed 1/ to 1/4 inch coating that is permanent but repairable. These coatings are applied as a two part coating with a catalyst for almost instant drying. The finish is so thick that it can be dinged, scraped and scratched and still not be penetrated down to the metal underneath.

The only real disadvantage of the bed liners spray on finish is the cost. You’re looking at several hundred dollars depending on your dealer. But that’s a small price to pay to protect your valuable truck.

Another option, especially for older trucks is the bed liner roll on or bed liner kit.

A bed liner spray finish you apply yourself or a finish you roll on can make your truck look a whole lot better. Make your older truck bed look great with a practical finish for a reasonable price. The kit finishes are usually much thinner than a pro finish so are not nearly as durable. The do-it-yourself bedliner can really improve the looks of a truck but does not provide the protection of a professional truck bed coating.

Another option to protect your truck bed is a bed liner mat. Either a carpet mat or a rubber mat is a good choice. For beds with a cover, a carpet mat is especially well suited. For really heavy, rough hauling a rubber mat is nearly indestructible and is even great for protecting an expensive spray on liner. Why damage a permanent liner when an inexpensive mat can take most of the beating?
