Every January is like a fresh start. A chance to reach for new goals, to do better, and to push yourself a little more to accomplish great things. Since this is the month to create and start those new goals/resolutions, I thought I would share my goals for 2015 with you.
My 2015 Goals
I’ve separated my goals into two categories this year, personal and blogging. Personally I think that it is just as important to set goals for your blog as it is for yourself. It will give you (aka me) direction in these two important parts of my life.
Pay Down Debt. Pay off the reaming $3,456.61 of my first debt pay down goal by July 2015. My husband and I started a five year journey to become debt free on a single income. It’s a lofty goal, but I think if we put our minds to it we can accomplish what we set out to do.
Continue To De-clutter Our Lives. Over the course of the past couple of years I have been slowly working on de-cluttering our home and our lives. Personally I feel the less clutter and stuff you have weighing you down the better you feel.
Menu Plan. I love to bake, but I hate to cook. That means when it comes to dinner it always seems to be a last minute thing. Hopefully menu planning will help bring an end to that.
Paint. I know this is a bit of a silly goal/resolution, but it is something that needs done. It is also something I’ve been putting off. The last time the walls, trim, and baseboards were painted was in 2007. While I still love the colors in my home, it’s definitely time to have them freshened up.
Get Organized. With all the personal and blogging goals I’ve set for myself along with my family responsibilities I need to be organized. It will not only make life easier, but my ADHD brain will thank me.
Grow My Blog. I love having Two Kids And A Budget as my personal sanctuary and sharing with all of you the things I do to help stretch our dollars. This year I want to take my little blog and help it grow.
By July 2015, the one year anniversary to Two Kids And A Budget I plan to increase my unique monthly visitors to 700 which will be double what I received in December 2014. By the end of 2015 the goal is to see that number reach 1,000 unique monthly visitors.
Increase Social Media Followers. Currently I have 194 Twitter followers. I am aiming to see that number increase to at least 500 which would more than double the current number. I would also like to see my Bloglovin followers increase from 16 to 40. Pinterest is a new area that I would like to explore and by years end would like to have at least 20 followers.
So, if you aren’t fallowing me in any one of those forms I would be so grateful if you did! I’m also not above bribing you with homemade cookies, or at least pictures of them! Wink, wink.
Start Freelancing. I’ve been toying with the idea of freelancing for awhile now, but as ye I haven’t taken the necessary steps to begin finding freelance work. This is the year to move forward in this area.
Submit 3 Articles To Regional Parenting Magazines. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for the past couple of years. I even wrote an article to submit. In all honesty I haven’t submitted it, simply because I’ve lacked the confidence to send it out “into the world”. I even gave myself permission not to because I didn’t have a blog, then once I did it wasn’t old enough and it didn’t have enough posts on it. Well, the time of excuses is over. Now is the time for action.
Side Hustle Income. I have set a minimum monthly goal of $300.00. That will total about $3,600.00 (before taxes) by the end of the year. I chose the number because it will pay off one of our bills on just the income I earn. I of course would love to earn more than that each month, and will strive to earn more but setting a minimum will give me something to shoot for. I also felt that the $300 was large enough to push me a little and yet not so large it’s impossible to earn given all of my other responsibilities that keep me busy.
